because, you know, if i was thinking about the speech that president obama gave, while it was very powerful and hopeful, there was one more piece that i think needed to be add fd you're thinking analytically, and that is even if that engagement fails, at least we know we tried and at least we know and the world knows where the responsibility lies. i think president obama's been good at helping orchestrate sanctions against iran because everyone recognized it was iran that stole an election from its own people. it was iran that continued to violate u.n. prohibitions against its nuclear enrichment activities, and obama managed to use his willingness to engage with iran when his hand was reached out and it was slapped back by ahmadinejad. he was then in a position to get tough with iran. so we're in this dilemma. i'm afraid engagement cannot guarantee a happy outcome but i agree with you, obama was signaling that he's willing to go the extra mile on the diplomatic front before he has to face that stark choice about how you prevent iran from getting a nuclear weapon if iran keeps up th

people, medicaid, obama care, things like that. and now you begin to get into bigger numbers, ryan gets 1.5% of gdp, or more than three times of what he saves in medicare, but cutting mostly health care on poor people, about 10% of total savings. then there is everything else, food, education, infrastructure, everything else the federal government does. ryan doesn't really say exactly which programs he is really cutting here. but it is where he is cutting. he gets four and a half times this budget as he does from medicare. it is about half the total cuts and it is a huge cut. we don't know the programs that will get the axe, but he has given us enough detail on it, to say that about two thirds of ryan's budget cuts comes from programs for the poor. but that is quite a bit. and he is still not balancing the budget until 2038. so how is ryan going to take the budget, which is already pretty rough and has pretty unpopular policies in it and get it to balance in ten years as opposed to 30? ironically, one thing that actually helps him a lot is the fiscal cliff deal, because it actually raises

from the re-election. the re-election of president obama, he is speaking at the national review summit and talking about his experience as a vice presidential candidate, he said moving forward the gop has to layout their vision with more specifics and with a broader appeal. meanwhile, this coming week the president will be unveiling the next step in his second term agenda. immigration. he is going to announce his plan to overhaul immigration. joining me now from the white house, kristen, the white house said friday that the president will be doubling down on policies that he has supported in the past. does that mean we probably won't hear anything new tuesday? >> well, we could hear some new proposes as well, craig, but i think that much of what he is going to unveil will be rooted in some of the policies that he is mapping out in the past. of course, this is an issue that president obama has been talking about since 2008, he said that it's one of his great regret that's has not gotten comprehensive immigration reform done. you will see him pushing to get it done in the second is term.

is facing nearly $50 billion in cuts unless congress can agree on alternative. president obama violated the constitution. that's the decision from a federal appeals court. the ruling avoid the president's recess appointments of three national relations board members. recess appointments are when the president fills an administration position while the senate is not in session to avoid confirmation. the court says recess appointments can only be made between formal sessions of congress. the ruling also questions the nomination of richard cordray as head of the consumer financial protection bureau. the white house disagrees with that decision calling it, quote, unprecedented but no word on if it will appeal. she was found guilty of murdering her2-year-old daughter but found guilty of lying to -- i'm sorry, not guilty of murdering her daughter but guilty of lying to police. now casey anthony has had two of those four lying convictions overturned. the court finding that anthony actually only gave two interviews to detectives. not four. letting two convictions stand but throwing out the rest
